Según el Observatorio de la Deuda Social Argentina de la Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), el índice de pobreza alcanzó el 54,9% y la indigencia el 20,3% durante el primer trimestre de 2024. La UCA reporta que el índice de pobreza en el área de Rawson/Trelew alcanza el 56,5%, mientras que la indigencia se sitúa en el 15,4%. Un bombardeo israelí mató a por lo menos 30 personas en dos escuelas de un complejo educativo de la ciudad de Gaza, en el norte de la Franja, que acoge a miles de palestinas y palestinos desplazados por la guerra.
